I was in my local Audi Dealer on Monday and I looked at a FL A3 with Connect package - the Special Destinations option is still there albeit in a slightly different format on MMI2 (see below). So I grabbed "my" salesman and had a go at him about this situation. I told him that I was expecting another call from Audi CS yesterday and that I would report what they said. Yesterday I had that call from Audi CS about the disappearance of the Special Destinations widget in myaudi.com and they said that my enquiry (from 6 weeks ago) has been "escalated to Level 2 Support in Germany" but there is no timescale for them to respond. I reported that back to my salesman and the Head of Business and lo and behold I had a call today from the "Audi UK Product and Technology Specialist for the SW". He told me that the widget has ben deliberately removed by Audi Germany "because no-one used it". I told him that was rubbish and that there are many other A3/S3 Connect users on this forum who DO use it regularly. He has promised to contact Audi Germany himself to ask whether they plan to reinstate it and will phone me tomorrow with an answer. I suspect that the answer is that it will not be reinstated so we will have to lump it (or use the McCaddys app).
He also told me that Audi Germany are introducing an eShop and will be selling the Connect map updates - but when and how much is not yet known. But he did say that further updates will be free of charge until the eShop opens.
