Bit of an odd one here, I have the universal phone prep in the armrest of my B7 2.0 TDi avant S Line Quattro, When I plug my phone in it starts charging then within 20 seconds it stops charging and does not start again unless I switch off ignition and turn back on again then it just does the same thing again. Does anybody have any ideas? what supplies the 5v to the USB does it come from the RNS-E or something else.

I had the same problem with an iPhone 5 & the OEM universal phone cradle in the arm rest. I ended up running a new Apple lightning connector charging cable from a separate 12 volt fused feed into the arm rest.
