Not quite today but yesterday so close enough...
Not content with modding cars, iPods, drum kits or just about anything else for that matter I modded the panoramic head for my camera...
Its a cheap bracket (18 quid) as pukker ones are all the money (250 ish and up) and I wanted to just see how I got on...
Does the job but is a little wobbly....
The rotational part of the head was particularly wobbly with only one locking screw and a rather wimpy looking 'guide'
So drilled and tapped that to get it a little more secure
Next up was to add a little more stability to the slider the camera would be attached too... the weight of a camera and lens on there was making it sag a little
Drilled and tapped for securing screws...
Bit sturdier now
I now need to spend a little time setting it all up properly as I need to properly centre the lens to the rotational pivot point and set the no-parallax point of the lens (good article here:

Took a quick test shot...
Consisted of 16 portrait shots stitched together in Photoshop CC... happy with the result considering the camera position wasn't optimal at the time...
The rotational head wasn't fantastic despite my efforts...was worried my camera would end up in a heap on the floor so bought something that should be a bit better at the job..
