How good is the Bose system in the A4?

In my previous car I fitted Infinity 6" mids + tweeter in the front, JBL 6x9's in the rear and a Denon amp and it was stunning but then sold the car (as you do).

My A4 has Bose fitted but I wondered if it's fab, good or just ok. Yes, it sounds good but I think it lacks that premium sound it should give????

Is it easy to upgrade the speakers etc in the A4? Is there any head units that you can change to give a red backlight like the Audi unit?

It depends on cab, saloon or avant.

I'm very happy with the saloon although I'm sure if you spent a wodge you could improve with aftermarket.

I'm not impressed with the avant and I've hear various cab owners say it's not 100%.

In the Saloon it's pretty good. Many young guys I know say it's not up to par for their music, but for me I think it's a step above my previous B5 A4's Bose system.

I went the aftermarket route with my second S3 after having Bose on the first and not being that impressed with it. It was a big faff, but now we also have an B6 Avant with Bose I'm glad I did it, the aftermarket setup is so much better - all the Bose system does is 'thump', there's no proper fill-in Bass (for any chosen music genre).
