Okay, had some recodings done by one of Audi's mechanics at his home.
We had some trouble with the following VCDS mods:
Being able to lock your car while the engine is running (found this one on a Golf forum, but since the ECU's are very similar I thought it would work):
Enable Bit 2 under Byte 4 in Central Electronics
Doesn't work...
If anyone would spend half an hour snooping around for this one, would be greatly appreciated.
I also did this coding (and as far as I can understand German as a Belgian combined with the Google Translate English), this coding should stop the car from dimming the LED-eyebrows when turning on your left or right indicator)

- Select STG 09 (vehicle power)
- STG access permissions -> Function 16
- Enter access code 31347
- STG adjustment -> Function 10
- Channel (10) -Leuchte2SL VLB10-dimming CD 2 Select
- Set value to 100
- Select a channel (10) -Leuchte3SL VRB21-dimming CD 3
- Value set to 100 (default: 30)
And the exact name of the channel we changed was
"(10)-Leuchte3SL VRB21-Dimmwert CD 3"
and
"(10)-Leuchte2SL VLB10-Dimmwert CD 2"
So that seems to be the correct one. After recoding, we tested it but couldn't notice any difference. However, when I came home I noticed that when I exit my car and my coming home lights get switched on after I open my driver door, the LED beams are fully lit (as are the xenon bulbs ofcourse). The "funny" thing is that when I lock the car with my remote and the indicator lights flash, the LED beams are dimmed continously during the blinking sequence of the indicator lights... Nice effect
, but not what I wanted to accomplish.
There are 3 things I would lik to get done:
- Stop the dimming of the DRL LED beams when you turn on your indicator light (always full brightness)
- Stop the dimming of the DRL LED beams when your xenon bulbs are lit (always full brightness)
- Full brightness for the DRL LED beams when you turn on your parking lights
So.... Who's the real "light" expert here?
There are SO many channels for lighting and everything, I want to understand it and found this info:

Anyone care to clarify?
I am willing to share all my confirmed mods, most of them are practical and give a nice touch about lighting...
