I know its a bit like marmite type thing

But what's it like to live with, clean, maintain, ageing?

Anyone have it and if so what colour?

I'm a big fan. I'm in the process of having most of my interior retrimmed with it.

If you're going to do it, it's really worth the extra money for the genuine Alcantara though, especially if you're trimming tactile items.

alcantara has several nice qualities

its very very nice to the touch , it is easy to clean and genuinely hard wearing
its also very good for acoustics in a vehicle cabin , it dampens noise very very well

genuine alcantara is expensive to buy but stretches better to form more complex shapes like an interior

i recovered the whole of my interior roof and also did the a,b,c and d pillars

I have the half Alcantara/leather in my A4 and absolutely love it!! especially the door cards, easy to clean and maintain, the only down side is that my drivers seat is showing some age now but after 11 years that is to be expected, the rest of the car is nion mint as the seats don't get used :)
