I did last time and for the first time, its not strictly necessary, but if you see some before and after pictures of what it does, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
They're really popular in the main dealer ( I work in one ) and not massively expensive.
Can you link me up with the product. I always thought it would be good to clean out as much crap especially at the bottom before putting new oil in.

Put this in when the old oil is in the engine still (and engine hot), leave to idle for 20 mins, then drain the oil and continue the service.
