seat belt removal

Hi all. Im in the process of stripping my s3 for weight saving purposes and was wondering if i can just remove the seatbelts without any issue. I think i saw a wire connected to them so dont want any airbags or what not going off. Any help would be great thanks. Daz

The wire is for the belt pre-tensioner thats triggered in event of an accident... IIRC the airbag light comes on if removed...

Hi tuffty thanks for the reply. So am i safe to unplug these or is it another time to disconnect the battery? Thanks again
