Hey Guys!

My A3 02 mod are uneven on Idle when the engine is cold. It´s been like that for a while, but it is starting to be uneven on idle when its warm to. I think it´s the MAF sensor tho, but do you guys have any other suggestions?

Air leaks generally... MAF doesn't normally cause this issue... the fact you mention the issue has got worse suggests its an air leak to me tbh...

Have you scanned for any fault codes? ideally you should check fuel trims too as excessively high numbers would point to an air leak...

Unplug it and see if it still happens?

Spark plugs...coil packs?

go with tufftys first

For a while ago me and my friend took an VAG scan on it, but no fault codes on the air system.

Would be nice to get this fixed, but would be nice to know what to change and do..

So there were faults? air leaks don't throw specific fault codes... any fault codes could be the result of an air leak like adaption codes etc... just because a fault doesn't say air leak explicitly doesn't mean its not related or a result of another issue

Smoke test will show you leaking pipes etc... most are under the inlet manifold or SAI... if you can't get it smoke tested then you will just have to look at all the rubber pipes checking for splits... oil sprayed everywhere is the normal clue...oil should be inside the engine... if its outside the engine than its either leaked out or been blown out.. older engines should be dirty not oily...

There were more electrical fault codes then engine and performance fault codes.

It´s kind of greasy near the oil cap, and there are many air lines going past it. Maybe I can check there and look for leaks..

Can you rescan and post results? as you are having running issues then they could well be relevant..

Sure :) Have to wait a few days, since it´s my friend who has the scanning tools, but I´ll update you afterwards :)
