New tyre time, Conti 5's were awesome but always up for something different.
Ref: Conti 5's --->http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-...al-sport-contact-5s-hunter-tracking-done.html
The Contis had done 18,500 miles, and were still showing 2.5mm all round. (wheel rotation midway through that)
So they've absolutely trounced the Bridgestone RE05As by 5K! (at least if i'd had waited a little longer)
I've changed a little early as the ride with so little tread on becomes extremely harsh, and it was starting to get on my t1ts.
So as Dunlop sponsor BTCC this year I thought they must be in their prime.
So, hello Dunlops.
A rated in the wet and C for fuel economy (not that the latter matters!!) and very quiet at only 68db.
I can't find a tyre in 225/40R18 92Y XL form with better ratings so thought it must be worth a punt.
Lets see how she goes.... 32k on the clock Will they beat the Contis.....? only time will tell....
