While trying to take off my wheel the security nut has sheered at the shaped end. Can I get one from Audi to fit my exiting one? Or would I have to have a new set and get the bolt drilled out somehow.
£42 isn't bad tbh when you consider the options, of which is very limited to just this being the cheapest I reckon.
Is that not a bit much? I had my wheels refurbed and the guy there did the same to my locking wheel key, he picked up another from Audi for about 30
If you've still got the old key just look on the end and it will have a letter. Call your local Audi and they will be able to order you another. They also have the master set and believe it or not there are only 20 different keys, and you can buy the master set off of eBay. That is also one of the reasons why I don't even bother with the lockers. If it's easy for the public to purchase the master set then it's easy for your wheels to be stolen anyway. So what's the point. And it saves you all the hassle with overtightened lockers. Problem solved lolWould you believe, this just happened to me today!! the audi vw specialists have well overtightened all the bolts. manaeged to get 3 of 4 locking nuts off. the last one just rounded all the edges. managed to use it to torque all the loose ones back up though. still expensive to replace. nothing on ebay yet
I did say that would happen in one of my earlier posts buddy. Please do not go to a garage I beg you. Please go to somebody that specializes in removing lockers. I'm not saying all of them don't know what they are doing, but most don't. Please, please for your own sake use somebody like the wheelnut man above on the link I've supplied. Most garages don't care about our wheels. As long as they get the locker out it doesn't matter to them. Don't make me say I told you so buddyAh well. New extractor key fitted but still would not budge the Fekking thing. Garage it is then. Not using these again.
