quattro rear diff play..

theres no noises from my diff but today while maneuvering a trailer I heard a clunk when going from forward to reverse and vice versa so once I was home I jacked it up for a nosey.
theres a bit of play there. whats my options?

I suspect its lots of small amounts of wear, in the various parts of the diff and in the CV joints, all adding up.

do you get the odd clunk of the rear end when going from forward to reverse? yours looks about the same amount of play as mine
