central locking/ electric windows probs

hi, i have a 2003 a4 sline avant, the key fob only works when it wants so have to unlock most of the time with the key then turn ignition on, this then activates central locking on all other doors, the problem is now the rear doors boot and fuel cap are not unlocking plus my electric windows not working!!! i have managed to open rear doors and fuel cap but they now cant be locked as central locking not working, i have checked all fuses but all seems ok?? any help id be very grateful, thanks

A chap on here had a similar issue recently. Check your passenger foot well for water and check for water in the battery compartment.

i would look at the wires in the rubber sleeve that go between the car and the drivers door. Most likely there will be some broken ones which will need repairing

as swarcup says, check for broken wires in the rubber seal between the car and door. you can pop it off with a thin screwdriver. it requres a bit of force but does come out.

RE your key fob, apparently it's common but the chip on the key fails and it keeps forgetting the link to the car. mine does it, had a new battery fitted and didnt help. you can replace them for about £60 if you look around.

My 2001 a4 the alarm stopped working central locking doesn't work from the fob and with the key only locks drivers door on the info panel it only highlights the passenger door front and the boot also the remote boot unlocking doesn't work either after numerous visits to a local Audi specialist( maybe not ) it was thought to be the comfort control module which was replaced with a used unit as mine had been soaked dut no difference think the replacement part was knackered ,they read the cars CPU and all the error codes identified this as the faulty part ,still in process of getting fixed,might be an idea if you get your cars CPU readit might point you in thr right direction
