I have heard a load of different things regarding these. I have a BAM 8L with K&N induction kit, forge 008 DV, badger 5 tip, Airtec FMIC, 3" down pipe and decat, currently AMD stage 1 but going for a stage 2 soon.

What do people think? Standard OEM? Or what after market one? Plus J or H?
 
Std S3 valve is an 'F'... the 'J' is a laggier valve that was popular on old AGU's with the K03 to get a little more of a boost spike from them... the AGU's didn't care too much as they have dumbass ECU's

Using it without mapping (and by mapping I mean custom mapping not generic stage 1/2 etc) on a more modern ECU (ME7) tends to create boost spikes and cause the ECU to go into limp... there is no reason in the world to fit one over a std valve
