On my S3, the brake nipples were M10 and required an 11mm spanner.
Safest to get a set of metric from 6mm up, they're not expensive?

You'll want a 3/8 ratchet and a deep socket to shock them open with maximum purchase and safety if they haven't been cracked off in a while.
Otherwise you will risk rounding them.
