Non res center section on std exhaust

Centre section on my exhaust is blowing and thinking of getting a non res centre section made up from an old mate who does custom exhausts. Is this the best way to go or should i by an oem section and fit that?

Will it make the car have a drone sound or will it make no difference ? I'm thinking mate making up centre section without box is probably the cheapest . Not looking to spend big money on a new milltek.

Been reading a few posts take it the tdi centre section only fits a3 turbos and not s3's ?Can't find any centre sections anywhere.

I think it made my car quieter when I removed the centre section ; )

What part did you use to replace it? Talking to my mate who works in kwikfit and he recons the tdi centre section should fit . Bosal 753-277 but wasn't sure if the pipe is same diameter.

I welded in a pipe the same diameter as the what was on it just got rid of the box
