Lateral Acceleration Sensor :(

Further to my previous post about the Traction light coming on intermittently, I put VAG-COM on to reveal the fault :-

Lateral Acceleration Sensor (G200) -
Intermittent (and i think it said something about intermittent electrical blah blah)...

Phoned up VAG-parts and they reckon its not a combination sensor or something so im going to need both!
£51 and £205 plus Vat!!

Is anything disabled while the light is on and the fault code is present?
Going to the ring next Thurs so probably wont be able to get them in time /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I do not think that your abs or traction control will be working.
My sensor went and got repaired by the dealer under used warranty. In the manual it basically says if the light is on then it isnt working.

Be careful!

You could always test it by doing an emergency stop and seeing if you skid?

Good Luck, hope it gets sorted. Maybe try a specialistto get it done sooner?

Thanks Rob, I tested it out tonight with an emergency stop and it was kind of trying to lock up but not (very short little lock ups)...

Pushing it round roundabouts/corners, it definitely felt like the TC was off but was'nt sure how much grip the new Yoko's were giving me (the 19's on Toyo's were awful!)
