Hi guys , I could do with some advice . Some thieves stole the wing mirrors from my 2007 Audi s3 the other day. Basically they stole them by tearing the mounts apart .I've priced up some brand new ones which are gonna cost around a grand fitted . I am reluctant to do this however as they will probably steal them again, and I'm not keen on funding someones crack habbit. My question is , can I install the normal a3 mirrors to my car and use the plastic metallic looking covers on them ?

as long as you get the same 'spec' mirrors they will work fine. When i say spec i mean that it matches the model (3 door or sportback).
If you don't want to get the S3 Alu ones then you can fit the colour coded ones if you like, although you will prob get a much cheaper deal on eBay for the standard ones from a breaking car.

Right cheers , I'll get looking on eBay. My car is blue and I don't know if a3's come in the same colour which may cause me problems getting colour coded ones . would these eBay covers fit on the standard a3 wingmirrors ? Yes those covers would fit on the A3 mirror although they look like the S3 ones so don't be surprised if another idiot came along and tried to rip them off... the lowlives around nowadays don't really care as long as they make a few quid.
If you did decide to get colour coded you can easily just get the covers sprayed to match your car colour.
