RNS-E reset it self / asked for software cd ??

Hi

I got in my car this morning going to work,
and the rns-e came up saying insert original software cd. ??

it wouldnt turn off,
they only thing it would do was open the screen, eject a cd.
even when i turned ignition off it stayed on.

it was fine yesterday.
anyway, popped back in the house and grabbed the navi cd i got with it,
and it updated the software.

why would it do this ??

now, the unit has started turning itself off and then back on straight away,
does it a few times... untill it starts working...


any ideas... ?

Sounds like there is a fault on the main board, think your only options are to strip the unit down and check all the connections or replace and sell on ebay as spares or repairs.
