Avant TDI Sport - Progress...

Thought id stick up some pictures and do a small progress thread of bits and bobs that I have done and I will be doing with my Avant

Bought in October 2013, in need of a little bit of TLC and a good clean:

First job was to fix the broken and corroded number plate lights and replace with LED units:

After with new boot strip and LED units:

Next up was some HIDs to give some more usable light up front:

Wheels were in a bad state. Time for a refurb in sparkly silver

Car interior was too light so needed some window tints to darken it down, before tints:

Very clean mine is similar you could get smoked side repeaters to match the dark theme

Looks great, the vortex kit looks very subtle in a dark colour compared to a light colour. Have you done anything with the suspension?

@AlexA4Avant Thanks. Ill stick with the clears, matches the rear lights and breaks up the dark. Don't want it all dark lol

@jimmyb592 Cheers, yeah the kit isn't as obvious as lighter coloured cars. Nope its running standard, and probably tired, Sport suspension. The rear is really low for a stock car!

@Chrismawa - that's what I was thinking. I know 19's raises mine abit but still looks a lot higher even with b5 perches up front and still running standard sport suspension.

Yeah yours does look a bit higher, guess mines just well worn haha. Is that^ with B5 perches?

Yeh b5 perches brought the front end down about 15mm

Your right pretty similar, except you have genuine RS6 wheels. Liking the Votex kit, bit more aggressive than my gmbh, quite a rare find though, was hard enough finding mine!

What tint did you go for on the windows? That will probably be my next set, have a cheap roll down blind for my son in the back at the moment.

How comes the fag lighter next to your hand brake is a flip up one!? Mines your standard pull out fag lighter thing. Gets annoying having the sat nav lead poking straight up!

Mine flips down to get a multi plug from pound shop and wire it in then have it under your ash tray

I'm not talking about the ash tray flip down lid. I'm on about the pop up 12v socket Chris has to the right of the hand brake.

Yer that's what I am saying the plug is only small then the multi will sit under your ash tray for when u need it will out a pic up in the car

Haha the fag lighter is the upgraded one that flips up. Tidies the centre console up a bit. I'm sure it can be retrofitted.

Yer I reckon! Took me ages to find a nice gmbh, didn't spot 1 nice votex example in my searches.

Might look into that! I have the same socket in my boot, never seen it there though.

Ohhh I follow, yours is a B5 though Alex, B6's don't have that space.

It can as I fitted one into mine, as you say the fixed one looks untidy.

Oh a point to make of an issue that popped up when I was doing it.

I had to remove two of the wires from the plug and swap them around. I think it was the two end wires, the power and illumination wires.
