I've got a B7 Avant 2.5Tdi and the ESP light keeps coming on.
I changed the brake switch and it showed no fault and went off.
I drove it for 20 mins and its back on ,says Low voltage at terminal 30.
Any ideas on this?

I'm not sure but I've had the car only 8 months so it could be old.

Did you get the low voltage 30 from a vehicle scan or were did you get that information from?

If it was P1602 or 005634.

Then its this.

18010/P1602/005634 - Power Supply B+ Terminal 30: Voltage too Low
Possible Causes

Cables on the Battery were removed
Battery weak (voltage)
Generator Malfunction
Possible Solutions
Check Battery Cables
Check/Replace Battery
Check/Replace Generator

Which my vehicle had when the battery was dying. Also noticed it wasn't holding a charge. Think one of the cells was dead or was dying because I noticed it got harder and harder to start the longer I left it standing.

Ok thanks I'll get the battery checked and go from there.

That would be a good start. I would assume it considering you have a TDI it will struggle to start as diesel vehicles generally need a lot of cranking power.

Thinking on that actually it has taken a bit longer to start and I reckon it probably is the battery however that light comes on for so many things before it said steering angle sensor but when I put the new brake switch in that went and never showed.now the voltage fault so hoping I can cure it without spending too many dollars lol. I've spent a fair bit on her to keep her nice already .
Thanks for your help anyway.

Was it either of these by any chance :

005634 - Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low
P1602 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100010
Fault Priority: 0
Fault Frequency: 1
Mileage: 0 km
Time Indication: 0

000022 - Bank 1: CMP Sensor (G40) / Engine Speed Sensor (G28): Incorrect Correlation
P0016 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00101000
Fault Priority: 0
Fault Frequency: 1
