I've just come across some secondhand 16" wheels for sale at a reasonable price, complete with winter tyres. Does anyone know if these will physically fit on my car with no adverse effects?

Those are the Audi A4 16 inch sports wheels. Used to run them on my Passat so recognised the part number. From memory 5x112 ET42 and 16 x 7 inches wide.
On your car the 16's appear to be 5x112 , the 6.5 inch wide wheels are ET46, the 7 inch wheels ET48 , so these would be a further 6mm out which wouldn't normally cause an issue.
What size are the brakes on your car as typically 16 inch wheels are good for 312mm and sometimes upto 320mm tops. They have the same 57.1mm bore.

Karl.

No idea on the brake size I'm afraid, Karl. I've taken a punt and bought them, £230 delivered was too good to pass up. If they don't fit (which, fortunately, sounds unlikely) then I'm sure I'll be able to move them on without loss.

8p0 071 498 G is the old a3 16" alloy wheel.
205/55/16 dunlop winter 3d are the tyres that came standard from audi
i was £132 for a wheel with fitting and balancing (not including tyre)

£132 per wheel without tyres? Sounds like I've got a decent deal then. The tyres are listed as 2 x Pirelli Snow Sport and 2 x Bridgestone Blizzak, all in 205/55/16 size.

I had to put 17" alloys on my S3 due to the brake disk size! Alloy and tyre (Conti) were 250 euro each!
