Want to spray my front grille but the body shop guy said the paint won't stick to chrome strips on my audi a3 2.0tdi and the paint will flake off have any I've u lads had it done or have had wrap ect ?

I have sanded chrome, primed it, then painted black and put clear coat on. After several month crashed my front, but the paint was still on there :D
Now have OEM black edition grill.

As above, its all in the prep. With a light sand and decent primer it will be fine.

Thank you all for the help I'll show the painter this n get it done!

I wrapped my grill myself and think it looks great. Cheap easy and reversible.

PlastiDip is also a good option, especially if you change or mind or sell the car on.

thanks lads im havin it carbon dipped in 2-3 weeks 200 for the whole grille and fog light bits :)

Have you thought about dipping it yourself, you can get kits to do it at home. Looks fairly easy and would probably cost considerably less.

Sand it etch primer, base, colour ... For what it costs consider wrapping it ?
Probably get a better finish, easy to reverse if it looks crap and quicker.

Maybe just change the grill altogether ?
