Hi all my s3 2001 facelift seems really slow to warm up on temp gauge and the heating matrix??,would replacing the thermostat make ay difference,any ideas what else it could be,thanks
 
Yes will make a big difference, it will heat up quickly and stay at 90 degrees.
 
Yeah, the thermostat usually sticks open slowing warm up time and also will cause engine temperature to drop when driving due to excessive cooling.

They're cheap enough to buy and not too bad to change with a 10mm 1/4" drive socket and wobbly extension ( though some people remove the alternator for better access)
 
Just a side thaught, but a new dip stick tube, as you will more than likely break the old one trying to remove it.
