Wiper linkage problem

I just replaced my wiper linkage, set it all up the way the old linkage was and now the drivers side arm is going up over the A pillar. I've adjusted the arm down towards the scuttle as far as it can go but the arm still goes over the A pillar has anyone else had this problem?

where does the drivers arm sit when at rest? pics?

It sits right down at the scuttle panel tuffty. Should I adjust the motor where it bolts to the linkage?

may sound stupid but you 100% sure you have to correct wiper arm on the correct side?
