Hi All,

long time no post!

Had my A3 for around 10 months now and still loving her.
I have a question about servicing for you lovely folk. You'll probably crucify me for asking a question that's been asked a million times but I've looked round the site and can't find an answer

My first service (9000 miles) is due in the next week or two.
My question is two fold.

1. What exactly does this service need to be. Just an oil change?
2. Do I have to do it with Audi?

Any help much appreciated

Stevo

VAG specialist rather than Audi as their labour will be stupid. Is what I have been told.

I believe an oil service is £159 from an Audi Dealer. In my opinion it's not that expensive. You might save yourself £30-40 going to an VAG specialist but I'd be looking to maintain an Audi service history with a new car, especially as it's under warranty and Audi can be funny about warranty work if a service is undertaken elsewhere.

I believe that price is for vehicles over 36 months old according to the fixed price servicing email I received today. Taken from that email:
"Privately owned Audi vehicles over 36 months old from date of registration. Up to and including 2.0 litre engines for A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, TT and Q5. Offer may be varied or withdrawn at any time. Prices include VAT at the prevailing rate and parts and labour. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Excludes Channel Isles."

Oil and interm service cost me £244 on Saturday from an audi garage.

Is the first 9000 service indicator oil change one? And can't you reset this service indicator yourself from the MMI? Gives the impression Audi don't mind who changes the oil. The inspection service however needs the garage to reset the service interval therefore needs to go back to Audi/vag specialist

When is the first service due? My car has just ticked over 9000 miles and I haven't had anything flag up about a service yet...

Your car will tell you when the service is due based on your driving style.

there are two types fixed and flexible serving. fixed is every 9000 miles and flexible is around 19000 miles you can find out more in the FAQ

I checked my schedule on my car and it's set at 9,700 miles for my oil service, not 9,000 as I initially thought (and the dealer told me)

Where can you check this?
