Intake manifold Cleaning

Hi guys!
I was just starting to take off the EGR valve and the intake manifold to clean them, but I seem I countered a problem with a bolt.

I can't reach it as there is that thing in the way, don't know what it is:

And the bolt is just behind it, and no way to get the Alan key in there.
Do you guys know how to take that thing out? What is it and is it safe taking it off? Cheers!

Is that not the egr cooler? The egr valve is on the other side of the engine.

On the top of the picture there is the Egr cooler and lower there is that round cilindrical thing...I have to take that out in order to take the manifold out.
Just took out the Egr valve,it was on this side as its a 1.9 TDI.
Do you know what's the round thing underneath tje Egr cooler! Do you know how to take that out?

I think thats the turbo actuator on the 2.0tdi there is a small clip that holds it on to the turbo and i think a 10mm bolt.

I think you are right, it stands on top of the turbo, the problem is that is has 3 -10mm bolts and I can't reach them (one is actually on the side of the turbo).
In case I'll be able to remove the bolts, is there a circlip, or something else?
