Help with s-line non mmi system

Hi picked up a new car today it's a 2010 s-line with the symphony head unit was wondering how do I play music from my phone , I've found a plug in the glove box I'm guessing I need some kind of adaptor lead , what do I need and what can I do ?

If it's like my last 2010 A4 S-line it might look like this-

Then it depends on what phone you have, also if it's a symphony unit it should have a SD slot for another option for playing music.

Is you head-unit like this, if so you can copy music files on to a SD card and it will work straight off your unit and can be controlled by the multifunction steering wheel.

That's what I've just done, loaded an SD card and it plays straight away.
Did find out though that a 4GB SD card would not work. I think the max is 2GB

Depends on what year, but a 4GB non HC should work fine. The newer cars can take up to 64GB

Well it was a micro SD card in an adaptor I was trying so maybe that had something to do with it.
Will try a non hc larger card.
Should it say in the manual what team Max capacity is?

It should do or you can ask Audi. I think it advises you not to use the adaptor version incase it comes loose and falls inside the unit.
