Auto tailgate

Hi is it possible to fit an auto open/close tailgate to replace the manual one?

I'm shure it must be, its standard on the RS4 now, was an extra but 2014 onwards its std equipemnt. Those parts are retro-fittable I'd think.

I read into it when I was looking for my car, generally found comments saying it was possible, but complicated, most likely requiring a new CCM.

Expensive just to save opening the boot.

Thanks guys, yes it is a bit pricey just to open the boot. Maybe I could look out for one that's breaking for spares.

Actually, I have it on both the RS and the X5 and its the closing rather than opening I find to be the saving with this option.

But I got to say £1100 is a bit steep, I think it was a £280 option when it wasn't standard on the RS which is a lot more paletable.

Sadly the keyfob doesn;t close the tailgate, it does on our X5 but the Audi requires a press of the button inside the tailgate lid.

You would think Audi and with the technology now a days you could close it off the fob, i was fitting Clifford alarms over 10 years ago with multichannel add on's. So if you can open it, you should be able to close it!!

So you saying to close the tailgate it's going to cost £1200
