I got my 2.0tdi 170 with 80k on the clock and fsh too from a dealer so pretty much the same!
I asked them to replace the cambelt with the sale and they said the same thing mentioned, that it doesnt need it till 140k. Used my lady charm (or nagging) and they did it as a good gesture.
If it is from a dealer, I reckon you could convince them to do it part of the deal, prob wont want it on there stock too long and give in
