Audi Rechargable Torch

I've had one of the Audi rechargable torches (4F0947175) for a while and it has alway worked well with the cigarette lighter socket in my A3. I swapped it over to the 12 Volt accessory socket in another car and it won't stay in place. I know some websites say works in cigarette lighter sockets but others say or 12V socket.

Does anyone who has the non-smoking pack with a power outlet instead of a cig lighter have a similar problem? I've seen reference to adaptor collars for other makes of torch but don't recall anything else coming with the Audi one.
