Garage I've just dropped my car off at for the Haldex oil change said they don't touch the rear diff just the Haldex oil. I thought they drained it all and topped up seperatly? Is it all supposed to be changed during the service oil just the Haldex oil. Really confused as I've heard horror stories of rear diffs being left dry.

as far as i know the haldex oil and rear differential oil is the same thing as the haldex is the rear diff? please correct if i am wrong.

Your wrong. :p They are definitely seperate. There seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding the whole Haldex oil change. If you just have the Haldex oil changed then you wouldn't necessarily have the diff oil changed. Make sure you say you want both doing when you book it in.

Haldex: G 055 175 A2 / 650ml
Rear diff: 75w-90 synthetic oil - G 052 145 52 / 900ml

As far as im aware,

First time I have ever heard of rear diff oil being changed. Got my haldex service done at 38k and as far as Im aware rear diff wasnt even mentioned.

They ended up changing it all today. New s-tronic oil and filter, Haldex oil and rear diff oil. Happy days :-D

Can someone confirm what mileage the Haldex service is due on 2010 model S3, Cheers

Change away but even my VAG specialist who carries out all my work said it didnt need changing on my 2009 s3.

Haldex is done at 38k Gazzer. Some people just do it at 40.

As Trev says the part listed above is made by Neuspeed, Audi don't list a filter for it so it doesn't need changing.

The fact that Audi don't list the part doesnt mean it's not to be changed.
I have changed it. Do it every second oil change. For the peace of mine.
