How many of you will challenge this, achieved today.

Not doctored, not reset, as straight as a die.

One journey uninterrupted along the A12, from Brentwood to Colchester, starting at the Holiday inn, and ending at my house.

i got 43.4 mpg average from my 1.8TFSI which i think is pretty good, but nothing like that!

quite often get 45-48 mpg out my 1.8tfsi on my 150 mile trip from Hampshire to Nottingham

Massive mpg = lots of carbon built up.

Diesels need a good rev to clear them out.

I had an A1 1.6 TDi courtesy car last week and I've just worked out that it did 70.9 mpg over the week.
That wasn't particularly being careful either.

Apologies for the blurry picture, but I managed to get that on my 2.0 TDI PD140 last year! Motorway journey, being very patient and using very little throttle as possible! Fuel gauge barely moved!

I was incredibly impressed I managed 87mpg in a skoda Octavia 1.6TDI (hire car) on a run to north wales about 6 months ago. After seeing these figures I realise I actually failed miserbly.

I once achieved 6.8 l/100km (41.5 mpg) according to the DIS with my S3, stage 1, Eagle F1s, AC off and keeping a steady speed at around 50-55 mph. Pretty impressive for a 300 hp 4wd car ;)
