Just bought this RS Gear Knob. Is it supposed to be like this?

Hi guys,

I've just bought this RS DSG gear knob for my 2.0 TDI S line RS3 rep

The button on the gear knob doesn't press in. It's stiff and feels like it's not even supposed to go in.

Is this because it's not fitted to the car?

Is it broken?

It needs fitting before it goes in, the plastic rod inside from underneath shouldn't be removed, as it holds the gearknock internals in place until fitted on the gear unit, if you press it in, its a pita to get back out to fit on the car.

Thank you dude. The idiot that sent it me, separated the plastic rod when packing it . I've popped it back in. I'm in Nottingham, I'd like you to fit this for me please when you've got a chance? Where are you located. I can drive to you as long as it's not Scotland lol
