i need to take the part of the dash that surrounds the hazard light button and all the heater controls, anyone have any idea how to take it off,(without breaking it) cheers

Remove the radio first, then the climate unit and hazard switch surround just pull out (well, mine did). There's about 5 multiplug wiring harnesses to disconnect for the CC unit (if you have heated seats) and the hazard surround is metal and again just clips on.

(Above instructions quoted for facelift dash).

just checking but you mean the whole part of the dash, it looks like one big section,,,,,cheers

I'm talking about the centre console in a facelift S3.
I've had mine apart for about 2 weeks (see my audio dilemma in the ICE forum)!
I believe that you can just prize the hazard warning surrond off, but you need to be really careful. With the radio already removed, you can give it a sharp tug from the bottom and off it pops! (oo err missus).

have you got any pics of your dash as i think they may be different, mine is a 1997 a3
,,,,cheers
