Need some help with a fault please......

Had a 360 mile round trip today and had a first for me where the car cut out completely which was a bit startling to say the least.

Firstly the story.

So, after about 50 mins of driving I got an error on the DIS of "Electric Parking Brake Malfunction" and the car (I think) went into limp mode i.e. I could only slow down, had no power etc and as soon as the car came to a complete stop power was cut to everything - not very helpful as I had pulled into a service station.

I turned killed the ignition, went for a leak, came back and when I turned it on everything seemed to be ok.

About 30 minutes later it did the same thing and I coasted across to the hard shoulder, came to a halt, lost all power killed ignition and after a couple of minutes fired the ignition again and everything seemed ok.

That was this morning on the way up and I got to where I was going (had to carry on as a very important meeting). On the way home (appx 180 miles) I had absolutely no problem at all.

I've done a scan and the details are below - there are several faults that all seem to be a ripple effect. I can see that the Electric Parking Brake is showing an intermittent fault and looks to be the first one triggered at 07:01:28. Would that cause a ripple effect through the gateway?

Also worried with the fault showing at 07:31:01 which shows as 00562 - Sensor for Oil Level/Temperature (G266) - sounds serious, is it??

Would be grateful if someone could give any pointers.

I cleared the fault codes and have checked the voltage output for alternator / battery but car now has a different problem.

There is no response to the ignition at all. I got in the car this evening, put the key in the lock and nothing at all on the I syrument panel but the radio and mmi work ok.

Google points to a potential ignition switch issue but that seems to be on pre face lady models.

Anyone any idea?

Looks as though it could be the Access Start Control Module but again the problems I've found are on pre facelift models.

Anyone know of any problems on a facelift model as it looks to be ****** expensive....

Latest in the hope that someone can help.

I cleared all of the codes and now have a different problem. Error code details below.

Yesterday I went to use the car and there was no power at all to the ignition. The MMI came on but nothing else worked at all. Could not even use VCDS but something happened and I could scan and the ignition came back to life.

From the help I've had on another site and some reading, it looks as though either it's a relay problem or the J518 Access Start Control Module. If it's a relay, happy days. If it's the module, from what I read, it aint cheap.

Now this has happened three times now since the first issue at the top of this post.

If it's intermittent, does anyone know if that would point to the relay, rather than the module at all?

An update in case anyone comes across this themselves.

So the problem occurred again and to check if it was a relay switch or not I swapped the relays (it's a 370) relay.

By swapping them over the problem went away and a new problem appeared in my DIS showing an issue with the Traction Control so hopefully it's just the relay!
