Cancelled GAP, now what?

So I'm in my 30 day cool off for my S1. I decided to opt out of Audi GAP and I'll get my own cover.

The company that control the GAP have cancelled it and told me to contact the dealer for the refund, I spoke to my salesman who told me he has no idea what happens now. I didn't pay for the GAP with cash so I'm not expecting a cash refund, maybe a reduction of my monthly finance?

Has anyone else done this recently?

GAP is not part of your payments, it's a stand alone policy, i paid my gap in one payment, silly not to have it nowadays.

He is keep GAP insurance, he's just opted out of the Audi one and going to a different supplier, at a cheaper rate I presume?
