just wondering I found a set of a6 wheels I really like but the ET is like 29 will they fit?

No chance ET29 is way to low. Anything past ET42 on a 8 or 8.5J rim will give trouble with 225/40/18 tyres

What trouble are you on about? I don't mind stretching tyres and maybe rolling arches

If you don't mind messing with the car, stretching tyres etc then you'll get pretty much anything to fit. I still think ET29 may be too low even after said modifications are put in place. It may still rub on the arches.
