My S5 surprised me again today. Out on an errand I thought I'd have some driving fun but was having trouble finding empty roads. I got to a junction and looked right to see some wonderful empty de-restricted road, but coming from the left was a van. I didn't want him to beat me to that road and although it was a bit cheeky I pulled out in front (in dynamic mode of course). There was a very slight complaint from the tyres but my car just shot out into the road and before I knew it I was doing 60 (of course I would never exceed the speed limit) and the van was way behind. My B5 would never have behaved like that - it would have bogged down and I would have hated that LAG moment before the turbo boost came in.
I can't imagine going back to turbo until they are electric.
