Final Edition Front Suspension Refresh

So! Next job.

My C5 FE 's front end rattles and clonks so time for a suspension refresh!
Does anyone have a list of components I should be looking to replace?

Both upper control arms. New pinch bolts. Both lower control arms and bolts. Both drop links. Upper shock mounts if your not doing the shocks. Pinch bolts may require some 'encouragement'. Check the steering ball joints for seal splits and the CV seals for splits. Both would show on a good MoT. You may have to remove shocks to see if any life left. Good luck!

Question is do I buy it all myself and struggle with it or do I find a reputable place to supply and fit quality items!?

Price V Time issue.
Took a day to get my pinch bolts out.....
Other than that its all bolts out bolts in stuff....
Air tools would of made it so much easier....

Cheapo sets of arms and links around £120....medium range around £600...Audi...well buy an another A6.
Think the shop times are around 5-6 hours....

If buying parts yourself you can get a full set of lemforder arms, drop links, track rods and all bolts from an ebay seller for around £400.
This is exactly the same kit audi parts dept would sell you (the audi/vw stamps are ground off if buying outwith audi/vw).
Quite a saving, even over gsf/euro prices:
