Centre console.....avant same as cab?

Hi all.

Is the centre console that surrounds the handbrake/gearstick etc the same on avants and cabriolets?

Well that's not the answer I was looking for ha!

Found one at a good price too (to replace mine which has the phone holder attachment).

What are the differences between the two consoles?

I had a cabby one fitted for a little while as a stop gap as I too got one stupidly cheap and didn't realise there was a difference, basically the canny one is slightly longer and doesn't sit deep enough in the dash so needs to be trimmed and also it doesn't have the top support bar so the top piece of trim around the hazards with doesn't fit properly, I have dug up a couple of random photo's I hope you can see the difference.

Yes I now have a B7 double din one fitted.

Excellent, so any B6/B7 for saloon/avant should fit perfectly. Just need to find the right colour now!
