Self Levelling Headlights

A3 2.0 TDI Sport 2004,Have factory fitted zennons , dipped beam was just glowing pink on nearside.
Anyway after reading various threads decided to loosen front bumper and remove headlights to make it a lot easier. As i was replacing both lamps as the cars 10 years old and originals still in.
Got both lamps changed plugged back in ,tried both were ok.
refitted bumper and headlights .But now have noticed they don't do the little up/down dance when switching on.
Is there something i need to reset ,there has been no error codes come up that i noticed.
Can i just disconect battery for 10 mins or does it need recoded.
It was just the one multi plug i disconected from each lamp.

Did you turn the engine/ignition on at all when you done the work? Or unlocked the car with your headlights on auto? They may just need resetting through VCD's

Scott,
i removed headlights with ignition off ,replaced lamps , and then tried them, never locked car or anything like that .
Haven't got auto lights by the way .

Should be a straight plug and play, I did mine a fortnight ago, just disconnected the block connector and removed the headlight.
Self levelling is working fine. First thing I checked.
