hi,a am changing the timing belt on Friday + water pump.
Can anyone tell me torque settings for 3x bolts on the pulleys please.
Also water pump bolts.
I am trying to source a pic or diagram of the front of the engine too.
A4 2.0 tdi b8.59 plate(estate)
Thanks.

Do you mean you want an image of the timing gear?
Have you replaced a toothed belt kit before?

FYI:
Fuel pump sprocket bolts (splines): 20Nm
Camshaft sprocket bolts (hex): 25Nm
Water pump: 15Nm

Yes but on older fords.
I've got the timing tools to do the job.
Any hidding I need to worry about?
Thanks for the info

So your kit should include a shaped locking tool for the crank and pins for the cam and pump. If you are loosening the cam or pump sprocket bolts, be sure to support the sprockets, don't to lean on the locking pins.

I would definitely proceed with caution here... The new VAG timing gear arrangements with the elliptical adjustments are a nice idea but add complexity if you're not familiar with the setup. The general routing and fitting of the belt is also more complex than a traditional set up. I'm sure this is all within your ability but, obviously any mistakes when setting up the timing can be a nightmare.

Thanks mate very helpful.
Will hand crank it before starting up

When you put the locking pins in and
the Crank tool, also make sure the markings line up,take the tension off the belt.
Belt comes off,change pulleys.
New tensioner on and make sure arrow is between the marker.
Hand crank it.
What do you think?
Anything else I should do?
Ps: water pump before I put on the belt.
Cheers

You've got the broad stokes down, but there's loads of stuff missing tbh. Based on your messages, in both this thread and your timing tool thread, my advise would be not to undertake this job yourself. It would be irresponsible of me to provide repair instructions when I cannot be confident of your ability (I mean no offence). A small mistake could easily cause you huge problems.
