A4 rusty front wheel arch problem

Alright Guys

I've just had to have my 2 front wings re sprayed on my 2011 dynamic due to rusty patches in the trailing edge of the arch just above the side skirt. Obviously I don't want to have to have the same problem again so I was wondering if anyone knew of any ways to protect against it. I've noticed that the post 2012 facelift models have a plastic guard to stop this, which I think is part of the wheel arch liner. Does anyone know if these can be back fitted onto the pre facelift model and if so does anyone have a part no.?

Would this not of been covered by the ant corrosion warranty ?

Yeah I've not had to pay, however, I've now started looking on other peoples arches and they all look the same so I assume it will happen again. Guess it's a common problem with the new ones having the mod.

Does it start from behind & come through?
