Had my car in for some work yesterday, (blue haldex also fitted wahoo) and I had some defcon bush inserts so asked for them to be fitted while it was there.

However they didn't fit them because apparently it's so tight in the wishbone, they felt it was too risky to press them in with the bush insert being rigid, 9/10 it will just snap.

If this is the case how does anyone go about fitting them?

It isn't the case. They're meant to be DEAD tight.
Usually the wishbones need cleaning up around the bushes to remove any corrosion, then press them in and they're in for life really.

Designed to be interference fit... as Prawn said, once in they stay in... you may need to apply a bit of heat to the arm before pressing in the inserts though

It didn't make a lot of sense to me, think some garages are scared of things they don't know about lol

Yep, my cookbots take about 6 ton of pressure to press in and I imagine the defcons are the same too. No one likes a baggy bush.
