Evening all,
I've got 2 routes into work, one is 13 miles but is very stop start and I get 30 (at best) to the gallon the other is 23 miles, but I get 40 mpg, as a fair proportion of it is motorway.....
So the question is - what is actually cheaper considering I'll be doing 50 miles per week more at better mpg.
So if very rough man maths is correct, taking diesel at approx £5 per gallon, the 30 mpg journey of 13 miles costs £2.15, and the longer journey of 23 miles costs £2.87 ish ......
So, slow boring and less efficient is better from a cost perspective, without even taking depreciation (100 miles per week more - ouch)..... into consideration.
But where's the fun in that????
(A6 Bitdi BE btw)
