Aircon making strange noise after regas fail

Went to get my aircon regassed as it wasn't getting cold. There were going to regas it but after plugging in the machine told that me theres a leak and needs some sort of new AC pipe from bulkhead. Told the garage that I could get some quotes first then come back later.

Now I've noticed the aircon is making a completely different noise to when I took it to this garage. Is that normal?

Was this an Audi dealer? They usually test it before trying to refill. The job done properly involves testing, degassing, vacuuming down, (sometimes flushed), re vacuummed then filled with the right gas/oil mix.

If yours is leaking you need to turn off the air con and don't use it till repaired. The noise could be air/moisture being drawn into the system which ain't good for it.

a tracer dye should be injected into the system to show where the leak is.
