Horrible rattle on start up

Had my 2.0 TDi S-Line now for a year and really happy with it but when i start it up in the morning it has a really horrible rattle for about 1-2 seconds before going away. Is it the Turbo? sounds ****** awful. Is this normal?

Morning, it's defo not normal. I've got the 150 2.0 TDI and get nothing like you describe. I'd get that looked at

My dmf rattled at cold, but longer than 1-2 seconds and I could indentify exactly where the noise was coming from. Had to be replaced after only 4000 miles

Hi

I would put money on it being cam chain.

Had same noise on startup on my petrol golf tsi. Chain and tensioner replaced under warrenty.
