Hi
I'm new to this site and have an issue with the balancer shaft/oil pump failure on May 2009 A6 2.0TDI 170 CR.
Engine code CAHA, 80K on clock.
I had the oil warning light, stopped car immediately and towed to local mechanic. Replaced balancer shaft assembly with a reconditioned unit from a local engineering company. My problem is that now the engine is noticeably noisier and there is vibration through the pedals and driver seat which was not there before. The mechanic is not acknowledging that there is any vibration or extra noise. Crankshaft bearing were checked for scoring and are apparently perfect. Turbo seems fine so far. Is it possible that the recon unit is not installed correctly, has anyone else experienced a similar issue?
