Hi All, I just changed my rear brake Calipers, Discs and Pads (bleeding it was fun!!) and whilst I was there I noticed a couple of issues which will need sorting for it's next MOT.

The Outer CV Joint (Front Near Side) was starting to split.
Both rear shockers are a bit rusty - though not leaking yet

Questions if I may?
Can I use a universal kit for the CV joint boot (with cone applicator) ? If so does anyone have a recommendation?
I put a DMF and clutch on the car when I bought it in April and I'd rather avoid removing the driveshaft if possible.
What brand of shockers are recommended? I don't drive the car particularly hard (it's my commute car and my 3.0V6 Alfa Spider was my toy)

Many Thanks in anticipation.
Gordon

p.s. it's a 2001 car if that makes any difference
